Elise has significant experience creating and executing HR strategy aligned to the principles of Positive Psychology. Currently much of Elise’s work focuses on Appreciative Inquiry, well-being, strengths, positive leadership and cultural change in organisations’ and school environments. Linda has extensive experience across the private and public sectors where she has held several strategic roles that span leading very large operational teams in a supermarket business to establishing and leading the People and Capability function at Melbourne Water from 2012, where she is accountable for ensuring people performance is optimised and aligned to the strategic objectives of the business.
Linda has extensive experience in leading major transformational change, developing employee capability including the establishment of the Coles Myer Institute and Melbourne Water Career Development Centre and is a passionate advocate for fostering female talent. With a target of achieving 50% of women in the business by 2020, Melbourne Water has implemented several strategies to support the attraction, development and engagement of women to build a pipeline of women for future leadership roles.
She is an accomplished executive coach having established her own successful business providing consulting and coaching services across a number of different industries including Financial Services, Property, FMCG, Insurance and Government.
She also has extensive Board and committee experience across the retail and education sector and is currently a non-executive director for Friendly Society Medical Association trading as National Pharmacies.
Linda has a Master of Leadership from Deakin University (2015), is a member and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute.

Mari Ruiz joined BankVic as Chief People & Culture Officer in October 2015. Mari is an energetic and results-focused senior Human Resources leader with over 25 years’ experience in “end-to-end” human resources services across a diverse range of industries – financial services, aviation/logistics, sales, telecommunications and professional services. Her experience has spanned a number of countries including Australia, China, Singapore, Japan and Korea.
Her career to date has enabled her to develop in depth skills across the full spectrum of HR including cultural transformation; strategy development and implementation; leadership and talent management; performance management; EBA negotiations with minimal or zero industrial disruption; and, reward and remuneration programs. In addition, she has led the HR function, and partnered with senior executive teams through mergers and acquisitions, post acquisition integration and restructures. As a result she has extensive experience in working in large scale environments with complex matrix structures that necessitate communicating the corporate HR vision across a wide range of both local and international business units and functional stakeholders.
Mari is a dynamic change agent, with qualifications in change and cultural tools and people metrics, and she has implemented a number of people and performance initiatives that have led to the achievement of various awards inclusive of: Hewitt Best Employer (2009), Employer of Choice for Women (2012), Finalist for WorkSafe Health & Wellbeing (2011), Finalist AHRI HR Impact (2011), and Finalist Diversity@Work (2011).
In 2017, and after a successful cultural transformation program at BankVic, Mari achieved the recognition of the following awards: Finalist in three categories including Australian HR Awards Australian HR Team of the Year, Best Reward & Recognition Program, and Employer of Choice.
Her recent personal accomplishments include HR Executive of the Year 2017 Award and finalist for AHRI Dave Ulrich HR Leader Award.
